I'll probably take this down soon because I am not sure I want my non-six pack stomach posted on the internet, but I do love my new tattoo. I love moths for many reasons- for their less flashy and more subtle beauty, the symbolism associated with them through the years in literature and mythology, and I wanted two little skulls in the eyespots on the wings to serve as a cheery reminder to live life fully. We are all going to die, there is no time to waste.
Joe was great, I really liked him. He and his wife were both sooo nice. My other tattoos are all black, this is the first time I have used color. Anyway... the picture below was taken just minutes after I finished, so there are still some ink and blood smears.
Sure is pretty. I've thought about getting one, but needles make me woosey and then I realized blood was involved. I'm too much of a wuss!

I agree with Kathy. Needles make me pass out. But I do appreciate those who are tough enough to go through that and end up with something meaningful like your moth. Plus, with it on your hip, you can still wear formal attire...which blows my mother's whole argument agains tattoos completely out of the water.

Just saw that it was the week for tats. Did you see that Patrick copied your blog? I bet that made you soooo mad.
