R.I.P. Sassy

I cannot believe that I can't find a single picture to post of a cat that was a part of my family for 20 years. I also can't believe that my parents neglected to mention to me that she died two weeks ago. And I can't believe that Sassy lived with my parents for two decades without my mom ever referring to her as anything other than "That Damn Cat".

She was a good cat, not too attractive at the end there, but she would still cuddle in Bob's lap and chase other cats out of the yard up until her death.

Something To Look Forward To...

Christmas was great fun this year, watching Dana's boys open their gifts especially. I spent the night at Mom and Bob's so I could be at the center of activity. I got some wonderful gifts. My parents are always so generous to us kids. I got some super warm and comfy slippers, books, fleece pajamas and robe, cuddleduds (you can see a "Things to Keep Dianne Warm" giving trend here), a couple of frames I like from Room and Board, and... saving the best for last... a 10-day trip for two to anywhere in the world, including airfare, lodging, and spending money! I am very excited. I just don't know where I should go (who I should take is a whole other story)! I have traveled very little in my life, I've never been able to afford big trips. All of my extra money went into buying and fixing up my houses. I went to Mexico in the 90's and to France in 2000 and that is about it. So I need suggestions.... Even if you have never posted a comment before, if you have a place you would highly recommend, please post it, anonymously if you wish. Or email me here.

I think I will try to go in late summer or early fall, so I will have plenty of time to plan and be excited.

New Photos

I uploaded new pictures to my Flickr site. I have some cute pics of the boys at Christmas, a group of photos from our company's Christmas luncheon, and a few shots of the progress of my house -which now has walls going up! (Scroll to the bottom of the set to see the newest house shots. I am keeping them in chronological order.)

I will get caught up on the last few days tomorrow. I have the rest of the week off from work as a result of having to use up some of my vacation days that I can't carry over. I will need advice on what to do with one of my Christmas presents- my greatest Christmas present EVER!

I Got Nothing

Everything comes and goes in phases, and currently I am in a phase of not having much to write about here. I go through periods when I have things floating in my head that occupy my thoughts and I focus on them and it keeps me from writing. Then these things will shift and I will start writing posts like crazy, so many I don't even publish them all here. So, maybe after the holidays I will have more to say. Until then...
(Dana, you don't need to post another anonymous "you suck" comment like you did last time I took a break. I have too many embarrassing stories and ugly pictures of you for you to write harassing comments.)

I'm Worn Out

Last night was interesting. I had an early dinner with Brandon and his girlfriend. She was nice, which wasn't surprising, and now that hurdle has been cleared. One more step. Then I met up with Joe and Su R and Jen and Su F and we hung out. I went back with Joe and Susan to their house and we rented a movie. Apparently I fell asleep before the movie got exciting and people started dying. I slept on their sofa with Idgie the angry cat.

I was supposed to go to a Christmas party tonight, but my stomach is hurting, so I changed plans. I haven't been very productive today at all, except for buying a really cool Treo phone and setting it up. I'm a little down tonight because I am so tired. I drank a little too much last night with Joe and Susan and then woke up too early. As my dad would say, that'll learn me!

So...

I have been slack on posting....

    This week I went out twice with a really cute guy who was very  interesting. I don't see it going anywhere, however, for various reasons. But it was still fun to hang out.
    I ran errands with my ex-husband today and it was nice. I think next Friday I am going to have lunch with him and his new girlfriend. That will be interesting. We are going to exchange Christmas gifts then, which made me suddenly wonder if I needed to buy his new girl a small gift... I guess not since I haven't met her yet. Everything is so weird in my life now. I just don't know what to do in most situations. It seems like everything is uncharted territory and I am just trying to keep the shoreline in sight. I try to just find the entertainment value in all that happens.

Like Samson

Max recently experienced his first haircut. He had beautiful curls, but the hair on the top was short, so he had a baby mullet.

You can see in these photos that he is the sweetest, most easy-going child.

However, just as Samson lost his strength when he lost his hair, I am afraid Max may have lost some of his sweetness when they cut off his curls. He has been wilder, louder, and more destructive. Look at the evilness below.

You can see that Sam, his dreadful big brother, is smiling at the transformation and saying, "Come on over to the dark side with me, little brother!"

My Friends Entertain Me

Sometimes the most fun happens after the guests leave.

    Actually, that is just when Jen remembered she had a camera. After everyone left and we were cleaning up. She is sending me more pictures later, but photos you will NOT be seeing on flickr include the one of me stuffing my face with leftover shrimp and looking like I am doing The Robot (I wasn't, but that doesn't mean I won't) and the one of her sitting in a chair looking like The Ghost of Christmas Past (complete with glowing red eyes).
    Tied for first place in the Most Spirited Attire competition would be David in his green velvet blazer with red tee and the duo of Lee and Andrea featuring Christmas sweaters from grandma. Lee's shoulder pads might have given her a slight edge in the competition.
